Experience
- Architected the core platform enabling virtual gift cards to integrate with DoorDash’s retail commerce ecosystem, solving challenges around customer-selected pricing and compatibility with existing catalog, checkout, and fulfillment infrastructure.
- Designed and introduced a generalized dynamic pricing abstraction into DoorDash’s commerce platform, enabling customer-priced products such as gift cards and donations while maintaining compatibility with existing pricing systems.
- Built scalable ingestion infrastructure for third-party gift card catalogs, contributing to the launch of DoorDash’s Gift Card Marketplace, now a $1B+ business.
- Serve as technical lead for the Gift Cards platform, driving architecture, roadmap, and cross-functional execution; lead fraud initiatives by partnering with Risk to improve approval rates and reduce chargebacks and false positives through systems such as 3DS, TTV, and delayed delivery.
- Built AI-powered internal engineering tooling, including an intelligent support responder and an automated reliability reporting pipeline for recurring org-wide engineering health reporting.
- Leading development of DoorDash’s first third-party gift card redemption platform.
- Designed and implemented core backend infrastructure for Twilio’s RBAC platform, resulting in two pending patents for identity and authorization innovations.
- Led engineering efforts to migrate production databases from EC2-hosted infrastructure to managed storage with zero downtime and zero customer data loss.
- Established operational ownership for six mission-critical services (>99.999% SLA), improving production reliability, observability, and deployment readiness.
- Contributed to regionalization of Twilio Identity services to support global regulatory and geographic requirements.
